We are currently seeking a part-time, permanent Inclusion Worker looking to bring excitement and enthusiasm to the position and be a part of a team dedicated to creating positive experiences for children and youth.

The Inclusion Worker will be responsible for assisting child participants who need extra assistance. An ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate the following abilities and qualities:

  • Strength working with and assisting children with special needs.

  • Ability to coordinate successfully with other team leaders and supervisors.

  • Presentation of a friendly and outgoing disposition within a child-friendly environment.

  • Skilled de-escalation tools, re-directing of energy and focus, and maintenance of a supportive and calm demeanour.

This position will demand the completion of taskings in a fast-paced and potentially stressful environment. The ideal candidate for this position will excel in the following skills and come with the following accomplishments:

  • A demonstrated ability to provide care and assistance to children with special needs including a physical, emotional, behavioural, and/or cognitive focus

  • Excellent communication skills: clear, succinct, and across different methodologies.

  • Must submit to and pass a Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector's check.

  • Must possess Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C qualifications.

  • Must meet BC Licensing minimum requirements for working with children (post-secondary classes in related field or Responsible Adult Course)

As a part of this position, the Inclusion may be responsible for the following duties:

  • Working directly with the child(ren) in need to enrich their experience in the program and ensure inclusion.

  • Documenting daily to maintain records and assess specific children's needs, abilities, challenges, and wins.

  • Providing for the child(ren)’s specific needs, adjusting activities when required, and ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.

  • Communicating with other team leaders and supervisors to maintain program quality, and overall participation and equitability.

  • Maintaining cleanliness and condition of equipment, materials, and site locations.

  • Completing other tasks as required by the program manager or staff supervisor.

Braefoot is Currently hiring Out of school care Leaders.

Job Details: Availability Monday to Friday from 2:15 to 5:30

Job Description:

The Braefoot Community Association provides before-school and after-school care programs for children between the ages of 5 and 12 years. We believe that the more positive activities our youth are involved in, the less time they are exposed to potentially negative influences. We encourage and enable youth to participate in activities that promote positive and active lifestyles, which then contribute to healthy communities.

We are currently seeking part-time Out of School Care Leaders for both our Braefoot and Marigold locations. Successful candidates will bring excitement and enthusiasm to the position and be a part of a team dedicated to creating positive experiences for children and youth.

The Out of School Care Leader will be responsible for ensuring the success of programs through the conducting of program activities. An ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate the following abilities and qualities:

Can work within a team to manage children in group sizes of up to 24.

 

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Able to coordinate successfully with other team leaders and supervisors.

  • Maintains a friendly and outgoing disposition within a child-friendly environment.

  • The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate the following skills and accomplishments:

    • A demonstrated ability to handle and maintain various camp equipment and materials.

    • Excellent communication skills and customer service ability.

    • Must submit to and pass a Criminal Record Check.

    • Must possess Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C qualifications.

  • As a part of this position, the Out of School Care Leader will be responsible for the following duties:

    • Leading and conducting camp activities and programs.

    • Communicating with other team leaders and supervisors to maintain program quality.

    • Maintaining cleanliness and condition of program equipment inventory and materials.

    • Receiving and handling correspondence and queries from parents and other external partners.

    • Ensuring safety and well-being of participants throughout programs and activities.

    • Completing other tasks as required by the childcare facility manager.

Victoria, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)


Licence/Certification:
