OUT OF SCHOOL CARE LEADER

Full job description

The Braefoot Community Association provides before-school care and after-school care programs for children between the ages of 5 and 12 years. We believe that the more positive activities our youth are involved in, the less time they are exposed to potentially negative influences. We encourage and enable youth to participate in activities that promote positive and active lifestyles, which then contribute to healthy communities.

We are currently seeking permanent part-time Out of School Care Leaders for both our Braefoot and Marigold locations. Successful candidates will bring excitement and enthusiasm to the position and be a part of a team dedicated to creating positive experiences for children and youth.

The Out of School Care Leader will be responsible for ensuring the success of programs through the conducting of programmed activities. An ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate the following abilities and qualities:

-Can work within a team to manage children with a ratio of up to 1 adult for 12 youths.

-Able to coordinate successfully with other team leaders and supervisors.
-Capable of maintaining a friendly and outgoing disposition within a child-friendly environment.
-Ability to plan and execute on lesson planning for outdoor education

 

This position will demand the completion of tasks in a fast-paced and stressful environment, and the ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate the following skills and accomplishments:

-A demonstrated ability to handle and maintain various equipment and materials.
-Excellent communication skills and ability to use various methods of communication.
-Must submit to and pass a Criminal Record Check.
-Must possess Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C qualifications.
-Must have or acquire suitable childcare courses or Responsible Adult Certification.

 

As a part of this position, the Out of School Care Leader will be responsible for the following duties:

 

-Leading and conducting activities and programs.
-Planning activities and lesson plans for programs
-Communicating with other team leaders and supervisors to maintain program quality.
-Maintaining cleanliness and condition of program equipment inventory and materials.
-Completing monthly inventory counts for program supply orders.
-Receiving and handling questions or feedback from parents and communicating appropriately.
-Ensuring safety and well-being of participants throughout programs and activities.
-Completing other tasks as required by the Childcare Facility Manager

 

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Seasonal
Contract length: 10 months

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

ECE DAYCARE TEACHER 

The Braefoot Community Association provides Nature Based daycare programs for children between the ages of 3 and 5 years. We believe that the more positive activities our youth are involved in, the less time they are exposed to potentially negative influences. We encourage and enable youth to participate in activities that promote positive and active lifestyles, which then contribute to healthy communities.

We are currently seeking an ECE Daycare Teacher for our Braefoot location. Successful candidates will bring excitement and enthusiasm to the position and be a part of a team dedicated to creating positive experiences for children and youth.

The Daycare Teacher will be responsible for ensuring the success of programs through the conducting of program activities. An ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate the following abilities and qualities:

  • Can work within a team to manage children in group sizes of up to 24.

  • Able to coordinate successfully with other team leaders and supervisors.

  • Maintains a friendly and outgoing disposition within a child-friendly environment.

  • Create and execute age appropriate nature themed activities.

This position will demand the completion of tasks in a fast-paced and stressful environment, and the ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate the following skills and accomplishments:

  • A demonstrated ability to handle and maintain various equipment and materials.

  • Excellent communication skills and customer service ability.

  • Must submit to and pass a Criminal Record Check.

  • Must possess Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C qualifications.

  • Must possess an Early Childhood Educator certification.

  • ECE-WE Available for all registered B.C ECE's

As a part of this position, the Daycare Teacher will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Planning, Leading and conducting activities and programs. We are moving towards a more nature based program.

  • Communicating with other team leaders and supervisors to maintain program quality.

  • Maintaining cleanliness and condition of program equipment inventory and materials.

  • Receiving and handling correspondence and queries from parents and other external partners.

  • Ensuring safety and well-being of participants throughout programs and activities.

  • Completing other tasks as required by the childcare facility manager.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $29.00 per hour
