The Braefoot Community Association has been a proud member of the community for over 30 years!

The original building was achieved through the hard work and dedication of many community partners, including the Municipality of Saanich, trade unions, Lakehill Soccer and Saanich Lacrosse. Over the years, the building has grown to include paved parking and increased lighting on and off the fields.

Since its inception, the Braefoot Community Association has:

  • Established a yearly bursary fund, to support community-minded youth in their pursuit of post-secondary education - over $270,000 has been handed out since 1989!

  • Initiated a special bursary in memory of Joy Paquin, who lost her battle with cancer in 2004. Joy was an outstanding teacher who displayed community engagement to her students. Each year one post-secondary student who exemplifies Joy''s qualities receives a bursary in her name, in order to pursue their dreams of a career in education.

  • Operated on-site basketball camps since 1993. The camps and programs have grown to include martial arts, soccer, volleyball, dance and lacrosse.

  • Created summer camp programs for children aged 6-12. Since their inception, over 4000 children have participated!

  • Supported Saanich Lacrosse with financial support to rebuild the lacrosse box at Braefoot Park.

  • Support Lakehill Soccer with financial support for their kit for La Liga.

  • Made improvements to the facilities, including adding an elevator, washroom for the disabled and a front office.

  • Support the Municipality of Saanich's initiative to build a new playground at Braefoot Park.
